Catalog Checker for AutoCAD Plant 3D
Open the catalog as a ZIP in the browser (no upload) – the check covers internal consistency: implausible dimensions, decimal errors and transposed digits, weights recalculated from geometry and material, order texts, outdated standards, iso symbols and blocks. You decide which standard to check against. Review suggestions, apply them and download the corrected copy.

How to proceed
- Pack.pcat and folder of the same name as a ZIP
- CheckDrop the ZIP – results in seconds
- ClarifyReview suggestions, enter values
- ApplyDownload the corrected copy + check report
Afterwards: import the catalog following the catalog implementation quick reference. Fully checked catalogs are available as ASEING Piping Catalogs.
What is checked
The rules come from our work on more than 40 manufacturer catalogs – we use the same checks for the ASEING Piping Catalogs.
Package & blocks
PCAT with folder of the same name, DWG block per block family, preview images, surplus files, script components.
Geometry
Dimensions numeric and > 0, connection diameter matches pipe outside diameter, pipe series per DN, dimensions increase with nominal size.
Weights
Weight per part present and plausible for the nominal size (family trend) – missing values via suggestion or entry per size.
Annotation
Order text and short description present, nominal size in the text correct, standard and material in the description.
Standards & material
Material with material number, standard present and matching the material – suggestions per component type.
Check scripts & adjust catalog
Custom Python scripts present and registered, parameters matching the catalog (including upper/lower case), @activate, **kw, indentation, umlauts – you receive corrections as ready-to-use .py files in the download. Catalog adjuster: after scripts have changed, update parameters, connection end type and values per size in the catalog.
New: Catalog Builder
New catalog from manufacturer catalogs (PDF with text, Excel, CSV): read dimension tables, detect design, connection, material, standards, pressure and temperature, confirm columns, check – pipe components, valves with actuators and supports as Excel for the Catalog Builder. Pressure/temperature limits per standard or per manufacturer approval, handover to the Piping Spec Calculator. 0.1 catalog credit (€13–17 net depending on the package) per family.
Add components
Create missing nominal sizes or copy a family as a new series – with new identifiers and all assignments, values from the manufacturer catalog. 0.1 catalog credit (€13–17 net depending on the package) per family.
Excel for the Catalog Builder
Export the catalog as Excel (ExcelFormatVersion 2.0) – for editing and rebuilding in the Autodesk Catalog Builder or for import into the catalog editor. Included in the check; added families 0.1 catalog credit per family (€13–17 net depending on the package).
Article numbers
ItemCode and custom columns such as "Article number": unique across the catalog – duplicate and missing numbers per family.
Iso symbols & connections
TYPE and SKEY per part, SKEY matching component and connection, end types and facings of the flanges.
Paths to a finished catalog
Check & correct a catalog
Check your own or purchased catalogs (.pcat as ZIP): dimensions, weights, texts, standards, iso symbols, blocks, scripts – download a corrected copy.
Add components & Excel for the Catalog Builder
Add missing nominal sizes and families: 0.1 catalog credit (€13–17 net depending on package) per added family. Export the entire catalog as Excel (ExcelFormatVersion 2.0) for the Autodesk Catalog Builder – included in the check.
Catalog from manufacturer catalogs
Upload a manufacturer PDF, Excel or CSV: the ASEING Catalog Builder reads the dimension tables, recognizes type, connection, material, standards, pressure and temperature, and writes pipe components, valves and supports as a Catalog Builder Excel file. 0.1 catalog credit (€13–17 net depending on package) per family.
Piping spec as a Plant 3D catalog
Perform preliminary sizing of a piping spec in the calculator and download the entire spec – pipes, fittings, flanges, gaskets, bolts and valves with actuators, including DIN 11850 dairy pipe with union or clamp – as a Catalog Builder Excel file. 0.1 catalog credit (€13–17 net depending on package) per family.
Connection Assistant
Custom end types in your catalog? Import EndCodesConfig.xml and DefaultConnectorsConfig.xml, check them and extend them as needed – free of charge.
What is a catalog credit?
The catalog credit is the billing unit of the packages: a 6-credit package contains 6 catalog credits, a 12-credit package 12, a 24-credit package 24.
- Check a catalog: 1 credit per catalog – 2 credits from 81 component families. The same catalog can then be rechecked as often as you like.
- Add components: 0.1 credit per added family (€13–17 net depending on package) – 10 families = 1 credit.
- Piping spec as a catalog from the Piping Spec Calculator: also 0.1 credit per family.
- Catalog from manufacturer catalogs (Catalog Builder): 0.1 credit per family in the generated Excel file, actuators as a separate family.
- Spec Sheet Pro from the Piping Spec Calculator (your own logo, no advertising, protected PDF): 0.1 credit per piping spec – specs already created as a Plant 3D catalog included.
- Downloading families that have already been billed again costs nothing.
One credit costs, depending on the package: 6-credit package €170 · 12-credit package €150 · 24-credit package €130 (net). You can see your remaining balance directly in the Catalog Checker after signing in.

Do the math, not the marketing
For management: what the Catalog Checker saves – with your own figures.
What does a component family cost when your designers create and check it themselves? Enter your values – the comparison updates instantly.
Example values: a piping spec with 30 families, 30 minutes per family, €95 per hour. Replace them with your own figures. Billed in catalog credits: adding components, piping spec as a catalog, catalog from manufacturer catalogs – 0.1 credit per family.

Prices
| Test | One catalog per company free of charge – with a customer account. Up to 30 component families are checked in detail; for larger catalogs you choose: check the first 30 families or have the whole catalog counted (individual findings for the first 30) – or cancel, in which case the test remains free. You can recheck the same catalog as often as you like for 24 hours, e.g. after corrections. |
|---|---|
| 6-credit package | €1,020 net, plus VAT – 6 catalog credits, €170 per credit |
| 12-credit package | €1,800 net, plus VAT – 12 catalog credits, €150 per credit |
| 24-credit package | €3,120 net, plus VAT – 24 catalog credits, €130 per credit |
| Mini Package | €170 net, plus VAT – 1 catalog credit, e.g. 10 Pro spec sheets. Also for renewal: if ordered before expiry, your remaining credits stay valid for another 12 months. |
| Large catalogs | Catalogs with more than 80 component families count double. Every catalog from the package can be rechecked as often as you like. |
| Add & create | Adding components (missing nominal sizes, new families), catalogs from manufacturer catalogs (Catalog Builder) and piping specs from the Piping Spec Calculator as a Plant 3D catalog: 0.1 catalog credit per family (€13–17 net depending on the package) – 10 families = 1 credit. Downloading the same families again is free. |
| Term | Each package is valid for 12 months from activation and ends automatically – no subscription, no cancellation required. If you order a new package before the expiry date – even the Mini Package is enough – we carry over unused catalog credits. We remind you 60, 30 and 7 days in advance. |
| In a team | A package applies to your company: colleagues with a customer account and the same company email domain (e.g. @your-company.com) book against the same package. On request, we restrict it to your account. Invite colleagues › |
| Standards status notice | If you wish, we keep track of the standard numbers in your catalogs (numbers only, such as "DIN EN 1092-1") and notify you in the Checker when a standard's status changes – then simply check again. Can be turned off at any time. |
Activation after receipt of payment. For the test, we store only the file name of the checked catalog in your account – the catalog data itself never leaves your computer.
