Revision management
The revision status identifies a specific change status of a document. With each revision, it receives a new index (letter or number) with a validity date, for example revision A when first created and revision B after the first change. This keeps every status traceable.
Overview
Ideally, manage projects in a project or document management system, where the history is complete.
Revision status checklist
- Only one version is ever accessible at a time.
- Copying files or folders as a "revision" is not permitted.
- Work in progress has no version description.
- Revisions are stored as a ZIP archive with the save date.
- Always issue drawing revisions as PDF as well.
- Identify design variants only in the name of the ZIP file.
- Record revisions in the project folder.
File formats
Revisions must be protected against modification. A DWG can be changed at any time and is therefore not a revision. Back up the native state as a ZIP and additionally "print" the drawing; a PDF counts as a print.

With the ASEING PlantPlus command extension (see title block), the title block and revision are set centrally before every submission; the layouts are then automatically named "Format-Rev###".
